Youth Hostels with Communal Showers

ALBERGUE PERE TARRES HOSTEL - BARCELONA
A few months back, I stayed over a night in Barcelona, huge place full of kids, students and long term guests . Not my favorite hostel, en-suite showers... very prívate.
I was given a bed in a 6 beds dorm, male only. Bored AF I didn’t want to feel like a babysitter in this hostel.
Went out , got wasted and came back around 7 am.. drunk and horny.
Such an interesting surprise ..one guy in his 50s was heading out but he definitely decided to stay a little longer.

On this trip I experimented a lot with being naked in front of my dorm mates.

A lot of straight guys really don’t give a fuck if you’re naked in the room as long as you’re not weird about it. (Especially if they’re not from USA or the Americas)

One of my dorm mates I just joked with him one night when we got back from the bar that, because it’s so hot, I’m about to take all my clothes of cause it’s hot af. He just laughed and said, “hell yea do what you want bro, it’s a free country”. So for like 20 mins I was just chilling naked and putting stuff in my suitcase and we just kept talking like nothing happened.

Most guys will wear their underwear in the room so they generally don’t care for the most part.

Not a hostel but i can highly recommend a couple of hours at Liquidom berlin...99% straight but a lot on show today!

Maze Backpackers Sydney has closed due to Covid. I am surprised this place did not close years ago. They claim they will open late September but the way things are in Oz I think it will be a lot longer. Or not at all. I know some people who read this forum have great memories of this place. The showers did have doors.

I remember walking by that place when I was meeting a friend down the block. It looked rundown. Was it fun? I'd love some stories.

Yeh I was in the smaller sauna facing 2 German twinks and one of them boned up and had a big semi. Lots of st8 dudes with big dicks but maybe they might have semis too

En France, beaucoup d'auberges de jeunesse ferment. Ne correspondent plus aux normes de salubrité, la concurrence d airbnb également. la faible rentabilité .Ex à nantes Biarritz Hendaye..

En Europe, j'imagine que beaucoup de ces hostels ont été rénovés et de ce fait....existe t il toujours des espaces communs

Not much choice there according to hostelworld. Hi Ottowa Jail Hostel, seems cool but is closed due to Covid. But nothing with communal showers or male, as far as I could see...

Definitely Eurohostel in Helsinki for their free morning sauna. Sauna showers are mostly open except for a stumpy divider wall for placing stuff. Main showers are properly walled cubicles but have frosted double doors that just cover the midriff.
