According to some Jewish law, it passes through the mother’s lineage. Depending on your faith, you might be spared from circumcision because of that. Of course it gets messy based on the many interpretations of Jewish identity, but I’m not an expert.

I only know because I had a Jewish friend who was getting very serious with her Catholic Eastern European (like, actually from there) boyfriend/fiancé and this was a contentious argument. Both were strongly in favor of their own views and she cited her Jewish identity as why their future sons should be circumcised. I’ve lost contact with them since.

Also, I’m pretty sure she pressured him to get a circ. A lot of these women are so selfish and demand such things from men and don’t care what the man wants for his own body. I don’t understand why men can’t avoid pro circ women, like this topic needs to come up before marriage.

You wont achieve it by making it illegal. Parents will either do it themselves or go abroad and the kid has to endure travelling while healing. Information will fuel the change in mindset.
I seriously doubt the Millennial/Zoomer generation of Jews will circumcise their sons.

We can change the culture of the USA by shaming parents that have this done and the doctors who do it. We also need to challenge all the “benefits” claims every time we hear it and be very vocal about how none of these claims make any sense. American society is only hearing one side and it’s only the pro circ side, but that can easily change.
