I'm not a follower of the "sport" either but what I assume is that like a lot of older "sports" they were also a display of male virality. So they're fighting of the bull and the tight clothing are a display and celebration of their masculinity. Not being a follower of this "sport", I hadn't noticed until now, how prominently the matadors display their ball sacks as well as the length of their penises when dressed-up for bullfighting.
Is that a traditional thing, to show-off the size of their genitals, or did it come about with the invention of cameras?
Curious if their intention is to impress the ladies in the audience, or to compare with their male competitors, or, maybe to intimidate the bulls?
A/B
Also, because they need to wear such tight clothing like a second skin to avoid accident involving the bull's horns and the clothingI'm not a follower of the "sport" either but what I assume is that like a lot of older "sports" they were also a display of male virality. Just a personal assumption.
