I absolutely love this. Number eight is my favorite.
 
So I have to ask guys, do you ever see yourself begin married or are you the marrying kind? I ask because I find that some of the men in our age group. Don't foresee marriage for them. I wanna know, what say you?❤

it might be a negative outlook but I don't see getting married for me.
I definitely wanted that at some point in my life, but honestly I think when I turned 40 -- never had a boyfriend, dealt poorly with a lot of rejection -- I told myself that some people just aren't meant for that fantasy of finding someone. and I'm probably just not meant for it.
it might happen unexpectedly, but being a realist I don't see it happening.

I also went through a few guys that soured me to the idea, but seeing my friend who is basically straight me, find someone and get married at our age has given me hope.

Well, I'm a romantic/a big ole girl. So I definitely see myself getting married. That's a great way to catch the bug.

I think that's true for many. So I get it.
 
what kind of International travel have y'all done?
I haven't been anywhere international (actually just starting the Passport process) ... but I would love to go to Italy, Berlin, Brazil... Egypt

switching gears. I want to talk about what I'm working on in a safe space like this.
one of my dreams is to write a graphic novel or even animate something about being black and gay.
I struggle with the art part of it though... as I feel like maybe I'm a perfectionist and NOTHING looks good to me. What's funny is I can make a rough sketch and like it, but once I start going in trying to perfect it I end up hating it...
ANYWAY ... my idea right now is to have my main character be a sex worker/porn performer. We'd follow him on his RISE in the industry but that's mostly in the background as the main focus will be the relationships he tries to keep while also trying to boost his career.
Anyway I wanted to share some sketches... IMG_2165.JPG

... so this was me trying to map out him dancing at Nob Hill Theater. It's okay.

THAN I tried to map out what his bod would look like from the start of the book to his PEAK in the porn industry...

Again, when I do a rough sketch I love it... when I start messing with it I hate it.
ANYWAY by Sunday I was SO FRUSTRATED and was telling myself "fuck i'm not good at ANYTHING".
I feel better now and I know I just have to keep working on it.
The great thing is I'm mostly (at this point) just doing this for ME so I'm not putting any big deadlines on finishing this... BUT I just wanted to share because sometimes I just want to tell people about what I'm doing and what I hope to accomplish.

ANOTHER thing I'm working on...
at one point I had this idea to basically pool all my insecurities into one character (i called him DUB... Dumb Ugly and Broke) . I didn't get very far with the story there... but I loved the guy I created.
So when I was frustrated about the ABOVE pics... I decided to go back to my DUB character and start to set him up for animation. Because though I don't have a strong story for him... I felt like he could be the "Host" of another idea I had.
I want to talk about porn... the porn I like, porn stars, etc etc etc and so I'm gonna do that... and he will be the face of the channel.
(again, this might be pointless to post... but I'm feeling like sharing right now)
So anyway here he is...

I feel like this is a safe space... so if anything, I already appreciate y'all for being so nice and welcoming here.

Aww, I love this. You're letting your creative juices flow. About the DUB guy, you could write an ugly duckling arc for him. Like someone who sees their beauty from within. Thank you so much for sharing this, Really. ❤

I went to Mexico just before the pandemic and I had a blast. I'd love to go to Italy and Greece. ❤
