means the clips were from the vhs release which back then was in the more standard tv screen aspect ratio .. which showed more... later dvd releases would often crop the images to simulate wide screen format this cutting what maybe the hot parts off...the vihs back then was geared to the old tv's and not modern wide screen smart tv's
