It actually is what makes him French.
French people have a very different view on ethnicity/nationality than Americans. French is a nationality and not an ethnicity. Being French is being a French citizen, regardless of the origins.
He's French. I too have Italian roots and family in Italy and yet it would never occur to me to call myself an Italian. I'm French.
He's called Maxime which is a French name and absolutely not the Italian Massimo. He also states himself that he's French on his X handle "Acteur français" next to a French flag with no Italian flag in sight.
regardless of the view of the French.. your nationality doesn't change your ethnicity my point was that he was ethnically Italian... and perhaps he wrote the first name in a French manner as a result of him being referred to in that way for so long.. anywho it's not a big deal anyway I was just stating a point..
