So BelAmi are re-realising remastered videos of Mick when I know damn well they have unrealised stuff in the vault whatever it is (Photoshoot / cam shows / other scenes not deemed releasable ) it’s a shame even the documentaries when he went to Australia for Mardi Gras I can’t find.

sg4ge did "remasters" and all it was, was them resizing the videos and CROPPING them to 16:9, from 4:3. It was so stupid, they basically turn a 400mb video to a 2gb sized video for no quality increase, and it removes a lot of the image. Not sure about Bel Ami, but other sites do this dumb shit.

If you film on vhs or dv tape it is IMPOSSIBLE to increase resolution, unless you filmed on 16/35mm, or if they filmed on HD but edited on SD.

From what I've read, the videos were already recorded in Full HD when produced and they downsized them for the website, so it'd be easier for people to watch and download them. They also converted the 3D videos back to 2D... but I'd not able to tell you if cameras that filmed/recorded in 3D captured stuff in Full HD then. The only way to remaster something and offer in Full HD is if you have source material that is in fact high definition otherwise it's just hazy, waxy stuff as you put it.

OTOH BelAmi knows their tech. They are the only porn studio that seems to know how to preserve their stuff and improve them. They remastered "Greek Holiday" and it looked gorgeous though I don't think it could be considered HD.

I believe they've been already working with 8K even though that format is not currently available on their website. So I guess we will always get some remasters here and there in the future. That's easy money if you think about it: same movie just different format. Though some people don't care about HD, I appreciate the extra definition and some of those guys really deserve to be seen in full glory.
