Since this thread is about the actor and his work, I thought that I would bring up one of his earliest TV roles on Everwood back in 2005. His character Reid was introduced as gay but after only one episode the character was quickly de-gayed. I was curious if anyone knows the backstory as to why the character's sexuality was so quickly changed when the show's creators made a point of hyping that they were adding a gay character to the show, only to change course after one episode. It remains one of the shortest gay character arcs in tv history. By his second episode his sexuality was made into bi or it was passed off as a misunderstanding or something like that (I honestly forget the exact details). I just remember it being a total cop out. The tea was never spilled as to how and why that change went down. I think of it as tv's first stunt gay character (probably done solely for ratings).
