I am going to lose my mind.

It is bad enough when musicians do ads, let's face it, as a musician, once you start selling products, you have zero artistic credibility left.

but when they are horrifically stupid or annoying ads, it is even worse...

that being said, the uber-annoying Beyonce, and her ad for DirectTV has to be the most annoying musician/sellout commercial ever...

if i hear that annoying song she sings one more time...and it is on *ALL* the time, unfortunately mostly on the sports channels, during games...

Lemme lemme lemme upgrade ya,...and lemme upgrade you to the latest channels in HD (while she is doing some retarded dance)
Lemme lemme lemme upgrade ya, grade ya, grade ya...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

lemme lemme lemme blow your fucking head off with a .357 magnum.

this is it for those who have not suffered through it yet

I love her video for Single Ladies, sorry.

we are talking about her commercial...since that is the only time i am ever forced to hear or see her.

for those of us who cannot stand her, we can avoid her music by not watching videos on MTV or whatever...but it is unfair that we cannot avoid her TV commercials.

horrible, horrible stuff.

Perhaps if you upgraded to the latest channels on HD then you could watch HD where they wouldn't have to advertise it to you :biggrin::biggrin::tongue:

I thought about that

but i refuse to give in to their Machiavellian schemes. :buttkick:

so annoying

:lmao:

Oh common guys... she's hot you have to admit it... and that's probably why it's being aired so much, cause guys and gals are watching through the whole commercial admiring her bootylicious self... I understand your point though...

she can keep her hair extensions and be quiet and i would be very happy.

:biggrin1:

"Upgrade You" didn't really go anywhere as a single. Mild success on the R&B charts and probably in the top 5 on 106 & Park, but her anthems resonate in people's minds. Thus Directv using her song to push their basic customers to move up to a better package.

It must work well in your demographic, because if it didn't, they'd of switched it out by now.

I remember when my grandparents had cross-country wireless cable, they didn't have big corporate sponsors, so they constantly showed their own commercials through the breaks and it was annoying.

"Hi, I'm Sheldon, from the Ad Agency. We'd like to extend to you a special offer for upgrading to our premium package. If you subscribe now, you'll also get the Disney Channel and the Family Channel free for three months." I totally remember it. No shit.

dear god, that was an actual song and not something she just did for a direct TV upgrade package?

I do not think i would categorize any Beyone song as an "anthem"

"Stairway to Heaven" is an anthem
"Upgrade You" is not.

i very seriously doubt the 37 year old white males in my demographic are madly trying to upgrade their DirectTV packages because of Beyonce.

i remember those as well...and since you are a youngster, i also remember days with no cable at all, and i have to say, either Sheldon from the Ad Agency, or BEyonce wanting me let to her "Upgrade Me" are both horrific.

At least Sheldon was not being paid 1 million bucks to compromise his artistic integrity

Wonder if she can be charged with stalking via television? You might have a case!
