I wonder where Ryoko is? I was seriously expecting her to be with Toshi.
Man, that dude sure got some nice sense of humour, didn't expect that.
On the other hand, nice to see Goro's family peace and safe. Kinda like when Momoko owns over Shigeno, and kinda glad that she didn't forget about Honda.. :D <3
In the first season, Goro was getting by with raw will power and talent alone, but now it's finally sinking in that talent alone will go to waste if it doesn't get honed. He's no longer the "savior hero" and Toshiya has opened his eyes to how far he has to go before he can ever claim to be a pro.
The secret weapon joke was great, nice Slam Dunk reference.

In the original manga Ryoko's last appearance was in the Yokohama little league game but the studio made a little change and put her in the anime but I dont think Ryoko and Toshiya are dating.
"I have been wielding a blade since before your were swimming around your father's scrotum." - Kurou
The secret weapon bit reminded me of the stupid guy on the baseball team in Rookies (For the life of me can't remember his name although doubt many people would know who I am talking about either way).
Anyways, good episode, hope with this Goro is able to reclaim his spot as a god mode pitcher, was kind of sad seeing him kind of just "fast" when as a little league player he was so much more.
To be honest I don't pity Gorou. With his own mind, he gave up his right shoulder/hand voluntarily. He has no one to blame but himself and it seems he knows it as well now. After all Shigeno-san had warned him about it tones of times in the past. You reap what you sow :) I won't be upset if they lose their coming match btw.
Oh boy, it's easy to figure who is the boss in Momoko and Shigeno couple xD
Yamane really was a huge jerk at the beginning, but he was freaking hilarious at the end. That superb secret weapon speech... When suddenly : ''Yosh, it's time to use our secret weapon!''
That made me laugh like hell. Oh Muta, I have a feeling you'll soon disappear from the field :3

it's easy to get by, maybe even dominate, in little league with "raw will power and talent". S1 was pretty realistic in that sense.
For some reasons I thought that girl was Ryoko, but guess she's just some freshman.
And well, guess Goro isn't really good with his left arm like the previous episode showed us. I'm really glad they're going through this. Injuries and finding a way around them are pretty rare in sports shows for some reasons. Major's author had a similar plot line in Buyuden where a character got hurt badly.
And Toshi's pretty good, I like how he's pushing Goro further with their rivalry. Wonder if Goro realizes that, or maybe he thinks that Toshi is just cold to him lol.
Man, five year-old Goro really woke up a monster when he introduced Toshi to baseball. Ayane reminds me sooo much of Sakuno from Prince of Tennis, the exact same character design and personality, she even gave Goro directions in the first episode of this season like Sakuno did to Echizen in the first PoT episode.
Although I'm mostly enjoying the new characters i'm pretty angry they just tossed Sawamura to the side like that. He was one of my favorite characters in the first season.
from some reason this episode was much better than the previous, maybe because goro back to the main topic...
wonder what they will do, from the preview goro is coming to the game, the question is when and how they will do 'till then.
I am not comfortable with the nerfed Goro. I would rather to watch him keep improving. And we couldn't see such important event (the broken shoulder) with the four years time jump... I feel like I have skipped a season.
That "secret weapon" inevitably reminds me Slam Dunk.
To think the little bowlcut haired, glasswearing Toshi would glow up to become not only smart but also popular with the girls. Disheartening for Goro to see his pitches aren't good enough yet where it'll be difficult to make his left arm function as good as his right dominant arm.
Secret weapon? Some people, like me, immediately remembered Slam Dunk.
Hanamichi about ten years earlier was also this "Secret Weapon". By the way, he behaved in exactly the same way and also played under number 10.
I think this is a clear reference to Slam Dunk!
